MindSpa's auditory and visual programs range in length from 10 to 40 minutes. These light and sound programs are typically used in a quiet place with eyes closed two to three times per week. Effective Stress Reduction - Help with focus and attention issues
The principal behind MindSpa is simple to understand and yet is very effective. It has been known for decades that by introducing specific frequencies of light and sound, the mind will attune to these frequencies. This is known as frequency following response. Two common natural examples are the flickering of small fires and candles, and the sound of ocean waves.
We have taken this knowledge to a sophisticated level of understanding. For stress reduction, MindSpa utilizes the natural ability of the mind to attune to external input, training it to enter the relaxation state, commonly referred to as the alpha state. It typically requires a minimum of about 20 minutes per session to receive the full benefit of this state. For optimal effect, it should be repeated on a regular basis.
There are many well-known techniques you may be familiar with for entering alpha including meditation and biofeedback. However, these are what are known as "active methods." They require some effort and active participation on the part of the individual. While these types of training methods can be effective, the majority require weeks, months and sometimes years of training, practice and commitment to become proficient.
MindSpa, in comparison, is a passive system. Little or no conscious effort is required on the part of the user. The frequencies of light and sound in our eight progressive relaxation programs assist the mind into a slower, deeper brainwave states. The four additional stimulation programs help move the mind into higher brainwave states for improving focus and cognitive ability.

These mental loops keep our mind remaining in the high beta activity state. Normal beta activity is associated with regular, active thinking processes.
